Ten Four Rum celebrates the natural beauty of our great land, inspired by special places to savour the fading warmth of the day with a superb drink in hand. In line with the Kim Clifford brand, the Ten Four name came from founder Nick’s friend and mentor Duncan, who was born on 10th April.
Sparked by their memories of good times shared on the shores of Lake Rotoiti, our design direction naturally gravitated to the relaxed, chilled out vibe of classic Kiwi baches (holiday homes). The use of illustration helped inject a fresh and unexpected look into the rum category, and to distinguish it from the darker pallet of the other Kim Clifford varieties.
The native bush inspired illustration is hand drawn on scrapper board, printed on uncoated stock with copper foil. The light blue/green colour scheme references painted weatherboard baches. Our goal is for the product to capture a feeling of warmth, both human and natural, evoking the joy and nostalgia of escaping to a happy place with loved ones.
